Possible positions and reflections of art and research at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, an exchange on contents and forms of artistic research with the APL – Angewandte Performance Lab (Peter Kozek, Barbis Ruder, Lucie Strecker), Nikolaus Gansterer and Margarete Jahrmann, together with Gerald Bast, Alexander Damianisch and Barbara Putz-Plecko

On 7 April 2021, in the context of the 12th International Conference on Artistic Research, Angewandte invites you to a streamed public evening event. By means of concrete contributions from the field of artistic research on the part of the Angewandte, exemplary access to the extensive practice in art and research at the Angewandte will be shown. The aim is to present possible practices, institutional scope and also academic perspectives. Explorative working methods by Nikolaus Gansterer, the APL – Angewandte Performance Laboratory (Peter Kozek, Barbis Ruder, Lucie Strecker) and Margarete Jahrmann will be presented in the context of the Angewandte environment and related to each other in a moderated round table.

The evening takes place in the context of the Society for Artistic Research’s international conference on artistic research, which is being held exclusively online for the first time this year; three terms “care”, “dare” and “share” are set as reflexive references. In intensive cooperation with the Society for Artistic Research, the three Viennese art universities (mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna) have created the opportunity to present artistic researchers and their work.
